why it’s worth the money
When I was in high school, my English teacher wrote with a fountain pen, and I thought that was so cool. So I started writing with a fountain pen in high school and college, and I was really committed to it for many, many years. I used to go to an art supply store to buy them. They’re much easier to find now, but I still enjoy using them.
The adult version of that is this Platinum Preppy, a pretty affordable fountain pen imported from Japan. I like the blue-black ink a lot, although I have black and pink too, and they’ve lasted really well. I’ve been using fountain pens for decades, and these for about ten years, since around 2016.
Then there’s the Uni-ball Signo RT in 0.5 millimeter, also imported from Japan, which comes in a six-pack. It’s my new favorite pen. It’s so fine, and the gel is so smooth.
Between these two pens, I’m set for life, and I never really want another pen. I keep them at all my desks and in all my bags.
